I love the monochromatic tones. Clean lines is the look I'm going for.

Love this fun sweater dress paired with to-die-for Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots. Instead of my go-to clutch, I opted for a black leather crossbody bag by Vince Camuto. I actually have this exact bag in a gorgeous royal blue that I got for a super deal at DSW. I'm going for fuss free jewelry. A classic pair of diamond studs and a statement ring. Minimal makeup, I love a natural face. Swipe on some mascara and a vampy lip, like this Mac lipstick. Bundled up in this cream shawl collared coat because it's freezing in NC!

First Day of School Outfit...

Today is the first day of school for my kids! Yippee ki yay!

The best thing about the first day of school is your outfit. I remember in Junior High my mom telling me to not wear my new Fall outfit because it was going to be hot! She was right. I didn't listen I wore my Fall outfit and burned up the whole day. But I was cute!

It makes me happy that both my son and daughter love Converse as much as I do. Below is an outfit I made on Polyvore 2 years ago and it still gets repinned on Pinterest. As of today, it is my top Pin with over 95 repins and 25 likes. Today, the only thing I would change is switching the camo jacket for a plaid shirt worn around the waist. Also, if you aren't a fan of Converse, go with Vans. Love the crossbody bookbag, a welcome change from the standard backpack.

I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that my top pin on Pinterest  has received over 70 repins and 14 likes. It is: My Valentine's Day Date Night Outfit! See below. I would still wear this outfit, but with Pax here, substitutions are in order.  I would substitute the pumps for a pair of funky ankle booties. A chunky turtleneck sweater would replace the white tee. Drop the blazer for a parka or cape coat.

Autumn Date Night...

Our weather here in NC has been perfect! Crisp mornings and chilly evenings. I am looking forward to Autumn. It's my favorite season. Sweaters, booties, the smell of a fireplace burning, hot cocoa, and pumpkins! My wedding anniversary is quickly approaching and below is the perfect outfit for a date night. My ideal date night is simply dinner and a movie. Really. I'm not hard to please. Throw in some people watching and we have an awesome night.

On my Autumn date night wardrobe wish list is:
1. A peplum top, perferably leather. Peplum is very flattering.
2. Sleek black booties with a slight edge. The booties below by Jean-Michel Cazabat are all that and a bag of Jalapeno Cheetos!
3. Classic hoops. About 3 inches diameter. Gold or sterling. Made by me.
4. Chunky triangle cocktail ring. Roman Luxe has a great one.
5. Jeans by J. Brand. These cargos with more zippers than MJ's jacket are awesome.
6. A suede clutch.

First Day of School Outfit...

School starts tomorrow for my kids. Yippee! I'm ready for them to get back into a routine. My daughter had her First Day of School outfit planned a week ago. Below is a set I created on Polyvore. If I were going off to college, this is what I would wear. Not too flashy but still stylish and comfortable to wear around campus.

Shoes: Converse they go with everything. I love mine! 
Jewelry: simple hoops and a great menswear watch
Jacket: Evenings are getting cool here in NC! Can't wait to wear my husband's vintage camo Army jacket.
