Spring Tea Party...

It's Spring!! I'm itching to invite my girlfriends over for a chat session. An afternoon or evening tea party would be nice. It's perfect for a book club meeting, bridal luncheon, baby shower, or Girls Day/Night Out. Finger sandwiches, desserts, champagne (optional), fruit, assorted teas and great conversation is all you need. Sweet cold tea is also a great idea to have on hand. Get out your china, or go to your local Thrift store or estate sale for a hodgepodge of dishes. Put your pinkie up while drinking your tea and have everyone call you "mum."

March Birchbox Review...

Happy First Day of Spring!! Spring is my second favorite season, Autumn is my first. This month's Birchbox theme is March Madness. The box was filled with products from up and coming rookies to veteran all-stars. I loved my box. I actually tried all of the products! Here is what I received and my personal review.

1. Sumita Eye Pencil (Black) full size - Love this! Two beauty items I wear everyday, eyeliner and lip gloss. This pencil glides on so smooth and lasts all day. Highly recommend this pencil. Available in other fun colors like lime green and navy.
2. Caldrea Body Lotion - Three samples of body lotion: Tea Olive Lime, Aloe Water Apricot, and Coconut Fig. I tried the Aloe Water and Tea Olive Lime. I like them both. Very rich and creamy with a subtle scent.
3. Madewell for Birchbox Emery Board full size - Birchbox teamed with Madewell to create a floral patterned emery board. Another favorite! Perfect for my purse.
4. Curls Cashmere Curls Leave-in Conditioner - Feels like a serum. Gave me great curls and did eliminate some of my frizz. I will definitely try more products from this brand.
5. Whish Shave Cream - Organic Shea butter foam-free shaving cream. Gave me a really close shave, but the scent is too strong and fruity for me. Will pass this on to my teenager.

What was in your Birchbox? If you don't get Birchbox, have you tried any of the above products?

Photo An Hour...

Got this fun idea from How Sweet It Is. Love her blog!

Note: this is not my typical day, not sure if I have one. This is what happened yesterday. Oh and I got distracted, so I didn't quite take a photo every hour. Will do this again.

Wine and Design...

Been a minute since I posted an Outfit of the Day. Mainly due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of photos taken of myself until I lose some pounds. On top of that, I'm very critical of the photos my photographer (teenage daughter) takes. She gets frustrated and I get annoyed. So most of the photos get deleted.

Anyway... Last Friday, four girlfriends and I went to Wine and Design. It's awesome! A painting studio where you bring wine and paint the picture of the day. I posted my painting on my Instagram. Below is what I wore.

Prabal Gurung for Target shirt, Leather jacket (old), Necklace made by me.

Jeans were purchased at Goodwill for $3. I did the distressing myself. DIY.

Excuse the old hands. I am still in search of a fantastic hand cream! Yeah, some people change their phone cases every 5 minutes, I change my nail polish. Cocktail ring by me.
Seriously, I cannot breath in this photo!! lol. Teenager is telling me to "suck it in!" Love my white Converse! Deciding if I should stud them or leave them alone.

Spring Organization Challenge...

Happy Wednesday! I came across a great Spring organization challenge on Pinterest, pictured below.  It's for 21 days. Each day you organization a small section in your home. I'm going to give this a go, starting today. I am the biggest procrastinator and my organizational skills need some major improvement. So, what do you think? Are you going to give it a try? Seems easy. Substitutions are allowed. For example, if you do not have a garage or basement/attic, then organize a spare bedroom, magazine rack, junk drawer or hallway.

Are you an awesome organizer? Please share your tips!

Spring Forward...

Daylight savings time is this Sunday.  We will set our clocks ahead one hour.  Spring forward. Who can afford to lose an hour? I know I can't. While reading my latest issue of Better Homes and Garden, I know I'm becoming my mother (never thought I would actually subscribe to BHG), experts gave some time-saving tips on how we can get back that hour. Some of my favorite time-saving tips from the article and a few of my own are:

1. Sleep with your workout clothes on. No excuse when the alarm clock goes off. Throw your sneakers on and out the door you go. Ah I can just see my husband's eyes roll now when I hop under the covers with my sports bra, tee, and running tights on. ha!
2. Buy 3 of everything. When shopping for gifts for her kids' friends, one mom buys 3 of everything. I like this idea. I think it also works well when buying adult gifts, especially when shopping for friends that live in different states.
3. Cook on the weekends. Put your slow cooker to use. Make a big pot of stew or chili on Sunday and eat leftovers during the week.
4. Make your lunch the night before. Meal prep. My teenage daughter hates the school cafeteria food. She always takes her lunch. To save time, she makes her lunch the night before. In the morning she shoves it in her lunch bag and zips out the door.
5. Buy your greeting cards in bulk. Got this tip from my mom. She goes to the store at the beginning of the month and buys all of the greeting cards she needs for that month. Unlike me I go 2 days before a birthday and pray they get it the day after their birthday.
6. Plan your clothes for the week. Pick out your outfits on Sunday. Hang them on separate hooks/hangers and place them in order in the front of your closet. Press them if needed. Pick out your accessories. Getting dressed in the mornings should be a breeze.

So let's hear it folks... What are your time-saving tips?

Glossybox February Review...

I recently subscribed to Glossybox, a monthly beauty subscription which features 5 luxury travel-sized beauty products. This is a fun way to sample different beauty products from new and familiar brands before making the decision to purchase. If you are a product junkie, I highly recommend Glossybox. February's theme was International Style. Take a look at what was in my box.

The box is pink. Ahh the little things that make me happy.

Lovely presentation. It's like opening a present.

Included every month is Glossymag. Magazine filled with beauty and style tips.

Starting from left:

1. Nail Rock Nail Wraps. Leopard print nail wrap. I may try it on one nail. Having them on all 10, is overkill. This is something I will give to my daughter.
2. Lisi Liquid Line Eyeliner. This is a full size product! Color I rec'd is black magic. It's black with a shimmer. I tried this today and I love it.
3. Da Vinci Cosmetics Shimmer Powder. Shimmering mineral powder that gives a subtle glow to your eyes or cheeks. Color I rec'd is Harmony. Also tried this today on my eyes using an eye shadow blush. Very pretty. Slight glow that can be worn day or night.
4. Bulgari soap. Very strong scent. As soon as I opened the box, I smelled the soap. I like a softer scent. You don't need to smell me before you see me.
5. Evologie Duo Pack Blemish Serum & Stay Clear Cream. This was also full size. Rapidly clears blemishes and reduces post acne scars. Good to keep on hand for the occasional hormonal acne breakout.
