Yesterday I went to a bead show and got a few things. Picked up my favorite gemstone, kyanite. Its the blue stick-like gemstone pictured above. Strands of pearls, I got a few "fancy" ideas for those. =)

Girls Night Out...

Girls Night Out this past weekend with my sorors. We went to Pazo which is located in Baltimore. We dined on tapas and paella (see pic). Gorgeous people, great food, and wonderful atmosphere. As always when we get together, it was a blast!

Weekend Recap...

We went to Maryland this past weekend for my family reunion. Saturday we went to Sandy Point State Park. Saturday night I hung out with some friends at Pazo restaurant in Baltimore where we dined on tapas and paella. Sunday evening I had Maryland crabs with lots of Old Bay seasoning with the kids and my father n law. Monday I stopped by Trader Joes on my way home because we do not have one in Greensboro. How was your weekend?

Shopping Steals...

J. Crew is currently having a Regional Warehouse Sale until July 25th in Winston-Salem. Yesterday I dragged the tween daughter and ventured out to see what steals I could find. Once inside, you were greeted with a white garbage bag and a price list. There were boxes everywhere filled with clothing and shoes for men, women, and children. After an hour of digging and impatient sighs from the tween, I took my "garbage" bag and headed to the counter. I got 2 things. One was a "steal." I got the above blazer in awesome condition (no snags, holes, rips) replacement buttons and tags attached for $30! This blazer is $238 on J.Crew's website. It will look great in the Fall adorned with vintage style brooches.

The other item was a cute white tee with a sequin pocket. The tween wants to know what's up with me and sequins lately. Anyway... The tee was $15. It had a small hole in it and I asked the cashier if she could take something off the price. She marked it down to $10. My opinion, it should have been $5, then I would call it a "steal." But it is cute, so I kept it in my "garbage" bag, cause lately I got a thing for sequins.

40th Birthday...

My client and 3 of her girlfriends are going on a cruise to celebrate their 40th birthday. She wanted to present them all with a commerative gift once they are abroad. This is the design I came up with. All charms, chains, and findings are sterling silver. Very nice detail and gram weight on the cruise ship charm. Three gemstones are faceted genuine cz and one is a salmon coral nugget. She was pleased and I'm sure the girls will be too! Bon Voyage!

Personalization...

My tween daughter has an odd name for a girl. She can never find girly personalized accessories with her name. I had the same problem when I was a tween. All of the commercial personalized accessories spelled my name with an "i" and not a "y."

During a recent trip to Florida we stumbled upon a vendor that sells leather accessories with an option to get your name engraved on them. The tween was tickled "pink."

There are a lot of great jewelry designers on etsy that specialize in personalizing jewelry with any given name. I think it's great! Not everyone has a basic name like Jane, Ann, Susan, or Sarah.
