Lupita's Shoes...

Hey All!  Did you all watch the Oscars? Did you just watch the red carpet fashion? Or were you like me and just flipped through photos on Instagram to see what your fave celebrity wore?

My personal fave is Lupita Nyong'o.  What a breath of fresh fashion air she is every since she came on the scene a year or so ago. Her fearless fashion sense and an amazing stylist, always gives me that Wow factor. She is definitely one of my girl crushes.

I loved her gown for this year's Academy Awards. The incredibly stunning Calvin Klein gown she wore had over 6,000 pearls that were hand-applied. It wasn't until she posted an Instagram pic of her accessories that I almost cried. The Nicholas Kirkwood shoes she wore were unreal! Simply gorgeous. Like I need these in my life. I immediately tagged my shoe twin niece on the Instagram pic. She immediately replied with the "heart eyed" emoji. In other words she loves them too.

Flawless! This gown... wow!

These shoes! Get in my closet!

From Audrey to Punk...

I love it when a DIY project turns out exactly the way you want. Today I punked up my pearl necklace using gold safety pins to look like a Tom Binns statement piece. I got the idea from one of my favorite blogger, HonestlyWTF. It was really easy and fun.

All you need is a pearl necklace and gold safety pins (about 100-125). I used size 7/8 inch. Place a safety pin or two between each pearl. Then go back and connect 4-5 vertical pins with a horizontal one. Now you have a punk pearl necklace. Have a stuffy board meeting you need to attend, no worries just take the pins off and you are back to looking like Audrey.  Below are a few pics of my necklace. Oh, and if you don't want to DIY, you can always shell out a cool $1400 for an original Tom Binns necklace.

Trunk Show...

It's March Madness! If you aren't at the Colisuem tonight watching the ACC Tournament, the next best place to be is at the Honeybun Boutique! S.A.D. will have a trunk show at Honeybun tonight at 7pm until 10pm. Honeybun is located at 219 Summit Ave, Downtown Greensboro. Cocktails and finger food starts at 7pm. My latest favorite necklace shown above will be for sale tonight. It's Rock Star meets Audrey Hepburn. The freshwater pearls are big and bold! The black cross is very detailed!
I dislike mass produced so I strive to give you something the girl next door doesn't have!

Got 100?

In celebration of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s 100th birthday, I designed these Centennial bracelets. The idea came to mind while attending the Centennial Boule this past July in Washington, DC. The bracelets consists of gorgeous freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, and a sterling silver 100 charm. The concept has been well received by my Sorors. I just completed the 6 (Sold) shown above, with a little bit of help from my 2 year old nephew, Kaleb. Interested in purchasing one for your favorite AKA? Contact me for ordering details! Peace!
